BARISHAL, Nov 27, 2025 (BSS) - A training programme titled “Supportive Laws for Conducting Cases, Techniques of Writing SF (Statement of Facts), and Responsibilities” was held today with the participation of officials of various departments and agencies under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in the district.
Information and Broadcasting Secretary Mahbuba Farjana virtually inaugurated the training programme as the chief guest. The programme was held at the conference room of the city’s Circuit House.
In her address, the chief guest said that the fundamental objective of law is to maintain peace and order in society.
To clearly understand which demands are legitimate and which are not, one must know the law, she said.
“When responsible individuals know the law, they can make the right decisions in any situation. Legal knowledge not only helps individuals or institutions make correct decisions but also helps avoid unwanted mistakes and disorder, contributing to overall stability in society,” she said.
The secretary added that knowledge of the law is important for everyone. The long-standing tendency to avoid legal issues when those arise must be abandoned, she said adding if a government institution is involved in a lawsuit, it cannot be neglected; otherwise, the reputation of the institution—and the government—may be harmed.
She further stated that laws are time-sensitive, and failure to present the correct legal provisions at the right time can often lead to complicated situations. Therefore, understanding the law is necessary for personal interest, institutional needs, and above all, for enhancing the reputation of the government, she added.
Barishal Deputy Commissioner Md. Khairul Alam Sumon chaired the programme while officials from various departments of the Barishal division were present.
