BRUR JCD activities begin with Abu Sayeed's grave visit

RANGPUR, Nov 30, 2025 (BSS) - The newly formed committee of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) unit of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) has started its activities by visiting the grave of martyr Abu Sayeed and praying for the recovery of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
 
The new BRUR JCD committee president Md Yamin led the committee members while visiting the grave of Abu Sayeed in his village Babanpur of Pirganj upazila, and praying for the recovery of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia on Saturday afternoon.
 
At that time, BRUR JCD Vice-presidents Md Maidul Islam Bappi and Md Tuhin Rana, General Secretary Md Zahir Raihan, Senior Joint General Secretary Md Rifat Hossain Rafi, Organizing Secretary Sajib Gazi, Office Secretary Md Sumon Hossain, Publicity Secretary Md Masud Rana and Student Affairs Secretary Md Asma Akhter Khushi along with JCD leaders and activists were present. 
 
Martyr Abu Sayeed's father Md Mokbul Hossain and other family members and relatives were present at that time.
 
After visiting the grave and offering prayers, Md Yamin said, "Today we started the activities of the newly formed BRUR JCD committee by visiting the grave of martyr Abu Sayeed and praying for the health of our national leader Begum Khaleda Zia."
 
Martyr Abu Sayeed, the first martyr of the anti-discrimination student movement who was killed in police firing during the July mass uprising, is the superhero of the oppressed and downtrodden people of Bangladesh, our pride. 
 
Starting from Begum Rokeya University, the entire Bangladesh is honored and proud of his heroism. 
 
"We will keep martyr Abu Sayeed's ideals, sacrifice and values of heroism in our hearts and will work with the university administration and students to establish martyr Abu Sayeed Gate and martyr Abu Sayeed Hall in the future," he said. 
 
He said, "We, Begum Rokeya University Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, have always been by the side of Shaheed Abu Sayeed's family, and will continue to be so in the future, Insha'Allah." 
 
Chhatra Dal has been doing honest, responsible and democratic politics for the welfare of students and has never done anything that upsets students, and will never do so in the future. 
 
"We will always devote ourselves to the interests of the students, university and the welfare of the country. We will create unity among the BRUR students and set a bright and positive example in student politics," Md Yamin added.
 
The new BRUR JCD committee was approved by the JCD central committee on November 27.
