CHATTOGRAM, Dec 1, 2025 (BSS)- A total of 50 tin-shed dwelling houses were gutted in a fire that broke out at a slum in Oxygen Intersection area under Bayazid Bostami Thana here this morning.

The blaze broke out around 10am on Monday near the railway line behind a factory operated by KDS Industrial Group. The area is home to most KDS factory workers and various other low-income families.

However, there is no report of injury in the fire incident while six units of Fire Service and Civil Defense from different stations doused the blaze within one and a half hours of frantic efforts at 11.30 am.

Fire Service Control Room Sources said the fire might have originated from an oven of a kitchen of Ledu Meah's slum beside the rail crossing area.

Extent of damage and cause of fire are still under investigation, the sources added.
