Schedule for scrutiny of nomination papers in Rangpur announced

RANGPUR, Dec 21, 2025 (BSS) - The timetable for scrutiny of nomination papers 
in six parliamentary constituencies of Rangpur has been announced as per the 
schedule of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad Elections announced by the Election 
Commission Secretariat. 
 
This schedule was announced in a notification signed by Deputy Commissioner 
and Returning Officer Mohammad Enamul Ahsan in accordance with the provisions 
of Article 14 of the Representation of the People Order, 1972. 
 
According to the notification, the scrutiny of nomination papers will be held 
in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner from January 1 to January 
3, 2026 as per the Bangladesh Election Commission announced schedule. 
 
The scrutiny of nominations for Rangpur-1 and Rangpur-2 constituencies will 
be held on January 1 (Thursday), the scrutiny of nominations for Rangpur-3 
and Rangpur-4 constituencies on January 2 (Friday) and the scrutiny of 
nominations for Rangpur-5 and Rangpur-6 constituencies on January 3 
(Saturday), 2026. 
 
The notification mentions that during the scrutiny of nomination papers, the 
candidates, their proposers, supporters or any persons appointed by the 
candidate (including a lawyer) can be present as per the law. 
 
According to the notification, while accepting the nomination papers, the 
concerned Assistant Returning Officers will confirm the date, time and place 
mentioned in the acknowledgement receipt and scrutiny notice. 
 
The authorities may change the announced schedule in special circumstances if 
necessary. 
 
It is to be noted that according to the announced schedule, the last date for 
submission of nomination papers for these six parliamentary constituencies in 
Rangpur district is December 29, 2025.
