Two held with 18-kg ganja in Kurigram

RANGPUR, Jan 22, 2026 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested two alleged drug dealers with 18 kg of ganja and two bottles of phensedyl from village Anontapur Abason under Phulbari police station of Kurigram district on Wednesday. 
 
On a tip off, an operational team of RAB-13's Sadar Company from Rangpur in an anti-drug drive seized 18 kg of ganja phensidyl in 4 plastic bags and arrested the alleged drug dealers from the village at 7:15 am, a press release said.
 
The detainees were identified as Nur Islam, 40, son of late Khaybar Ali and Rehena alias Manji, 38, wife of late Shakhawat of village Anontapur Abason under Phulbari police station of Kurigram district. 
 
After filing a case against the arrested persons under the Narcotics Control Act, 2018, the elite force handed over them along with the seized drugs to Phulbari police station of Kurigram district, the release added.
