SUNAMGANJ, Aug 24, 2026 (BSS) - A man was killed in a road accident on the Sylhet-Sunamganj highway near Dabor Point in Shantiganj upazila of the district early this morning.
 
The deceased was identified as Uzzal Hossain, son of Ataur Rahman of Chhoto Ghaghatia village in Bhemkhali union of Jamalganj upazila. He was serving as an Ansar member in the Dhaka Zone.
 
Local residents said the accident took place around 6 am when the motorcycle collided head-on with a bus, leaving its rider Uzzal dead on the spot.
 
Shantiganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge Oli Ullah confirmed the matter and said police recovered the body and sent it to Sunamganj Sadar Hospital morgue.
 
The body will be handed over to the family after completion of the necessary legal procedures, he said.
