RANGPUR, Aug 24, 2026 (BSS) - Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP) organised a meeting with religious leaders to ensure that the programmes on the occasion of Eid-e-Miladunnabi (PBUH) on 12th of Rabi' al-Awwal are carried out peacefully, orderly and smoothly. 
 
RpMP Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Mabud presided over the meeting held at his conference room in the city today.

Religious leaders, Additional RpMP Commissioner, Deputy Commissioners (DCs) of Police and Additional Deputy Commissioners (ADCs) of Police, Assistant Deputy Commissioners of Police and police officials attended the meeting.

In the meeting, the RpMP Commissioner appealed to religious leaders and said, "We are all the best creatures of creation. We are the Ummah of the Prophet of Allah Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). 
 
Religious organizations are not political organizations. You are highly respected people of the society." 
 
He also said that the menace of drugs is at its highest at present. The religious community and religious leaders must play a more vocal role to protect the society from the menace of drugs. 

Noting that a section of the youth in particular is going astray in various ways, he said that the role of the clerical community is very important in building a beautiful society and ideal families. 
 
The Police Commissioner called on religious leaders to spread the message of harmony, tolerance and peace among the people and to cooperate in maintaining discipline in the programs. 
 
He said, "Rangpur Metropolitan Police will provide necessary cooperation and security measures to the organizers to complete their respective programs in a peaceful, orderly and harmonious environment." 
 
Religious organisations like Gausia Committee Bangladesh, Ashrafiya Chishtia Qadria, Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah, Nasirabad Ekramia Mahbubia and Nasirabad Darbar Sharif and different mosque authorities have chalked out programmes. 

These organisations will take out colorful Eid-e-Miladunnabi processions on the city streets and organise discussions marking the Eid-e-Miladunnabi on 12th of Rabi' al-Awwal on Wednesday.
