South Korea wildfire causing 'unprecedented damage': acting president

SEOUL, March 26, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - South Korea's acting president Han Duck-soo said Wednesday that deadly wildfires raging in the southeast have caused "unprecedented damage" and exceeded all prediction models.

"Wildfires burning for a fifth consecutive day in Ulsan and the Gyeongsang region are causing unprecedented damage," Han said, adding that the fires were "developing in a way that is exceeding both existing prediction models and earlier expectations".
