BELGRADE, May 4, 2025 (BSS/TASS) - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has left a military hospital, he canceled all his plans for the coming days, but did not give up on his visit to Moscow on May 9, First Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Sinisa Mali announced.
"He left the Military Medical Academy (VMA) sometime after 05:00 p.m. I spoke with him - he says he feels better," Mali said on the Radio and Television of Serbia (RTS).
"The President feels better. He asked to convey this to all citizens of Serbia. Let's give him a few days of rest. Since he has been prescribed a rest, he has canceled all activities for the coming days," he said.
The First Deputy Prime Minister noted that he had no information regarding any adjustments in connection with the President's plans to visit Moscow on May 9, but expressed confidence that Vucic "will keep his word."
"In the next few days, when he recovers, he will address the public. The only thing I can say, knowing him, considering that he is a man of his word, is that he promised that he would be there, and I assume that he will fulfill his promise," Mali noted.
"If he goes to Moscow, the presidents of Brazil, China, and Russia will also be there. <...> Tell me, is there a leader in the world who meets so often with world leaders? No! This speaks of his image, respect, but not only for him personally, but for all of Serbia, because he represents his country. In a few days, he will return to his duties, and we will continue to work," Mali concluded. Cardiologist of the Military Medical Academy Dragan Dincic, to whom the head of state had earlier addressed, noted that the health condition of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic is stable and satisfactory, but the head of state will not be able to fully resume his work duties for several days.
Earlier, Vucic suddenly felt a strong pain in his chest during his US visit. He sought medical help and after an examination decided to return to Serbia. The Serbian leader stated that he intends to attend the Victory Parade in Moscow on May 9, unless "anything happens to him or any threat is posed to Serbia.".
