Haiti violence displaces a 'record' 1.3 million people: UN

GENEVA, June 11, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - A record number of people -- almost 1.3 million -- have been internally displaced in Haiti due to violence, the United Nations said on Wednesday.

That represents a 24 percent increase since December 2024, according to the UN report, which added that it was "the highest number of people displaced by violence ever recorded in the country".
