SANGSAD BHABAN, Sept 3, 2026 (BSS) – The parliamentary committee on Jatiya Sangsad library today sought more manpower for the facility, particularly for its research section.
The committee, which is headed by Deputy Speaker Barrister Kayser Kamal, simultaneously discussed ways to develop further the quality of the reference and research services the library.
The meeting probabilities of launching an E-Parliament system for reviewing the recorded proceedings and decided to seek the opinions of the leader of the House and opposition through the parliamentary speaker.
This was the sixth meeting of the committee of the 13th parliament which was joined by members Whip ABM Ashraf Uddin Nizan, Dr M Mahbubur Rahman, Nayab Yousuf Ahmed, Mir Ahmed Bin Quashem, Sayeed Al Noman, Mohammad Nazibur Rahman and Akhter Hossen.
The meeting also reviewed the implementation status of the implementation of the decisions the committee too previously.
The meeting also formed a sub-committee with committee member Dr M Mahbubur Rahman as its convener and Sayeed Al Noman and Mohammad Nazibur Rahman as the member to improve the quality of research and data based reference services for the lawmakers.
The meeting decided to hire consultants to run the service and entrusted the sub-committee with the task of defining responsibilities of the consultants experienced in matters related to ministries of health, home, finance and local government.
Concerned Parliament secretariat officials also attended the meeting.
