SANGSAD BHABAN, June 11, 2026 (BSS) - The highlights of the proposed budget for fiscal year 2026-27 are as follows --

Total size of the proposed budget-- Taka 9.38 lakh crore, 13.7 percent of the GDP 
GDP growth target-- 6.5 percent Inflation target—7.5 percent.

Revenue target-- Taka 5.64 lakh crore Out of this, Taka 4.99 lakh crore will be collected through NBR and Taka 65, 000 crore from other sourcesBudget deficit-- Taka 2.26 lakh crore, 3.6 percent of GDPOut of the total deficit, Taka 1,25,000 crore are proposed to be financed from domestic sources and Taka 1,01,000 crore from external sources This is the first budget of incumbent Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury.

 Tax-free income limit: Taka 3.75 lakh for individual taxpayers
Priority has been given on education, health, agriculture, local government and rural development, power, communication, and Science and Technology sectors.

The theme of the budget is “Journey Towards a Democratic, Humane and Inclusive Economy”.
