DHAKA, Sept 8, 2024 (BSS) - The Dhaka University is likely to resume its
classes and academic activities in the last week of this month which was
officially shut on July 17 amid the countrywide Anti Discrimination Student
Movement.
"Subjected to the approval from the Syndicate, the highest policy making body
of the university, the classes and academic activities are likely to resume
in the last week of September", said a university press release.
In a bid to resume university's academic activities soon, DU Vice Chancellor
Prof Dr Niaz Ahmed Khan today held a meeting with the deans of faculties,
chairmen of departments’ directors of institutes and chief of different
offices at the auditorium of Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury senate Bhaban.
DU Pro-VC (Administration) Prof Dr Sayema Haque Bidisha, DU Treasurer Dr Md
Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Proctor Associate professor Saifuddin Ahmed and
Acting register Munshi Shams Uddin Ahmed, among others, were present in the
meeting.
The university authorities have been working relentlessly to ensure security
and discipline in the halls, departments and institutes and thus, a number of
view exchange meetings between teachers and students were arranged in
different halls, added the release.
