CA appoints two new special assistants with state minister status

DHAKA, March 5, 2025 (BSS) - The Chief Adviser of the Interim Government today appointed two new special assistants with the rank of state minister.

The newly appointed special assistants to the Chief Adviser are Sheikh Moinuddin and Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, who will assist advisers, according to a gazette notification issued by the Cabinet Division.

It said they were entrusted with executive power to assist advisers for the ministries of Road Transport and Bridges and Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology.

The gazette notification said that the chief adviser appointed those special assistants under the Rules of Business, 1996.

Sheikh Moinuddin will be responsible to charge of the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, while Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb will be responsible for the charge of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology ministry, it said.

The notification said that while serving as special assistants, they will receive salary, benefits, and privileges as a state minister.

The order, the notification said, will be effective immediately.
