DHAKA, April 7, 2025 (BSS) - The Election Commission (EC) has urged the 
public not to fall into deceptive Facebook advertisements promoting NID-
related services.

A media release issued by the EC secretariat today said recently, it has 
observed numerous fake IDs and Facebook pages on social media platforms, 
which are misleading people by advertising NID-related services, which is 
highly unwanted.

It said official information and video content about voter list updates and 
national identity cards are regularly shared through two authorized pages: 
Bangladesh Election Commission Secretariat 
(http://www.facebook.com/@BangladehECS) and the National Identity 
Registration Division and IDEA Project (Phase 2)-run NID card (page link: 
http://www.facebook.com/bd.nid)

All the people are advised to avoid all other Facebook pages promoting NID-
related services and to refrain from being misled by such advertisements.
