Expatriates send $1.96b in remittances in first 21 days of April

DHAKA, April 22, 2025 (BSS) - The strong inflow of remittances has continued its dominating trend into April, with expatriates sending around $1.96 billion in the first 21 days of the month.

This follows a record-breaking $3.29 billion received in March.

Bangladesh Bank’s latest update revealed that Bangladeshi expatriates have sent around $1.96 billion in inward remittance in 21 days of this April. The inward remittance flow during the first 21 days of April 2024 was $1.39 billion.

In April last year, the expatriates sent $2.04 billion in remittances, while in the 21 days of April this year, they sent $1.96 billion in remittances.

Accordingly, Bangladesh received $85 million in remittances in a single day on April 21, 2025.

The central bank data also showed that the inward remittances witnessed a 28.6 percent growth during July 2024 to April 21, 2025 fetching $23.75 billon which was $18.47 billion from July 2023 to April 21, 2024.
