DHAKA, June 21, 2025 (BSS) - Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin today said national parliamentary election schedule will be declared in due time.

"You will know about the election date on time. We will announce polls schedule in due time. You will know then, InshaAllah," he told newsmen after inaugurating a two-day training programme on election laws and regulations at the Election Training Institute here.

Responding to a query on timeline and planning for the national election, the CEC reiterated that:"You will know in time. We are working according to an 'action plan'.

Many call it a roadmap, but we want to say it an action plan".

Mentioning that every office has an action plan, he said: "since there will be a big election in the country, so we also have an action plan. We have done an action plan since we took over charge".

Responding to another question, he said communication with the government takes place both formally and informally, depending on necessity.

"There is no need of formal plan or announcement for such communication," he added.

The training is being attended by officials of the Election Commission Secretariat and the Election Training Institute.

Four election commissioners, senior EC secretary and other concerned officials were present at the opening ceremony.

Regarding the EC’s role in ongoing institutional reforms, the CEC noted that they are involved in government initiatives, including recommendations from the Reform Commission.

"We are moving forward keeping all these things in mind. When the time comes, you will know everything," he said.
