DHAKA, July 17, 2025 (BSS) - Internet services have not been suspended or disrupted in Gopalganj, according to a statement of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications.

"The government's position is clear about not shutting down the internet in any circumstances. The government is committed to keeping mobile and broadband internet services uninterrupted anywhere in the country," said the statement issued on Wednesday night.

The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has not issued any instruction to shut down or disrupt mobile internet in Gopalganj or any other place in the country.

It is believed that the autocrats and their cohorts are spreading such misinformation of internet shutdown with malicious intentions.

All people and organisations have been asked to be careful before spreading misinformation and disinformation aiming help maintain the country's overall situation and order in public life.
