Polls will be held within time announced by CA: Shafiqul Alam

DHAKA, July 31, 2025 (BSS)- Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam has said the election will be held within the time frame as declared by the Chief Adviser. However, next five to six days are very crucial, he said.

“We stand at the same position in next election issue. It will not delay even a day. We hope this election will be a good one and held in a very festive atmosphere,” he said.

Shafiqul Alam said this in a dialogue organised by Bangladesh Secretariat Reporters Forum (BSRF) at its office today.

BSRF President Masudul Haque and General Secretary Obaidullah Badal also spoke on the occasion.

Alam said, “You can be sure one thing that the election will not be delayed. It will not be delayed for a single day as the Chief Advisor has told earlier.” 

The Chief Adviser at firstly told that the election will be held in early April. Then we told in London that depending on progress of the reform the election might be held in February, and we are still at that point.”

“We hope that the election will be a good one and will be held in a very festive atmosphere. Every election has some violence, and we will make every effort to reduce violence to zero.”
