Govt remains alert against well-orchestrated move of foiling polls: Alam

NEW YORK, Sept 29, 2025 (BSS) - Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam on Monday said the interim government remains alert against any orchestrated move of destabilising the country and foiling elections.

"Those, who siphoned off billions of dollars and fled the country, have been taking well-orchestrated moves from abroad to destabilise the country," he told a press briefing at a city hotel here.

Alam said the fallen dictatorship, its cohorts, and their allied international forces together are taking well-orchestrated moves to foil the next elections and make it questionable.

"We are observing such a move but we remain optimum alert to this end and we are working," he said. 

Noting a campaign of fake news is being spread against Bangladesh, the press secretary said Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus is informing the world leaders about it.

He said the democratic transition is very important for Bangladesh, so the interim government is committed to holding a free and fair election in February next.
