DHAKA, Oct 8, 2025 (BSS) – Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia today offered prayers at the mausoleum of the party’s founder and former President Shaheed Ziaur Rahman in the capital.

She arrived at the grave premises in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar around 11:00 pm and stayed there for nearly 20 minutes as a mark of profound respect, party sources said.

 Begum Khaleda Zia left her Gulshan residence 'Feroza' after 10:30 am to visit the mausoleum.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, senior leaders of the party, as well as local leaders and activists, were present.

BNP Standing Committee Member and the Chairperson’s personal physician Professor Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain confirmed the information to the media.
