Bangladesh Army arrests 151 in nationwide joint operations

DHAKA, Oct 24, 2025 (BSS) -The Bangladesh Army in coordination with law enforcement agencies arrested 151 more individuals in joint operations conducted across the country, including the capital, from October 16-23. 

According to an ISPR press release, the detainees include illegal arms holders, identified criminals, smugglers, juvenile gang members, drug dealers, and addicts. 

In the joint operation, the security forces also seized 13 illegal firearms, 10 rounds of ammunition, three cartridges, 35 crude bombs, local and foreign narcotics, sharp weapons, cash, mobile phones, and other stolen goods. 

All arrestees have been handed over to local police for interrogation and legal action.

The Bangladesh Army continues regular patrols and security operations to ensure public safety, assist in controlling worker unrest, and help extinguish fires, the release said. 

Bangladesh Army has requested the people to report any suspicious activities to the nearest army camp.
