Metro rail service on Motijheel-Shahbagh section resumes

DHAKA, Oct 26, 2025 (BSS) – Considering passengers’ sufferings, authorities of the metro rail resumed its services on the Motijheel-Shahbagh section at 7:15 pm on Sunday, following a suspension of about seven hours.

“We have resumed partial services of the metro rail on the Motijheel-Shahbagh section from 7:15pm,” according to the officials of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd (DMTCL).

The authorities confirmed that services on the Uttara-Agargaon section were restored hours after the accident.

An officer of the metro authorities said experts were working to reinstall the bearing pad of the metro rail at Farmgate area.

According to metro rail authorities the incident took place around 12.15 pm when a bearing pad used to prevent vibration during train movement, came loose and fell on a pedestrian at Farmgate station, killing the pedestrian on the spot.
