DHAKA, Dec 10, 2025 (BSS) - The schedule for the 13th national election and referendum on July National Charter will be announced at 6pm tomorrow.

Senior Secretary of the Election Commission (EC) Secretariat Akhtar Ahmed said this after the recording of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) A M M Nasir Uddin's address by Bangladesh Television (BTV) and Bangladesh Betar today.

Speaking to reporters at Nirbachan Bhaban here, Akhtar Ahmed said the CEC will deliver a recorded address to the nation, during which he will announce the election schedule.

In response to a question regarding the High Court verdict on the demarcation of Bagerhat and Gazipur, He said, "We have received reports about the demarcation. Once we obtain the certified copy of the court order, the Commission will take a decision accordingly."

Replying to another question, he said, "As of now, the plan is to announce the election schedule for all 300 parliamentary constituencies tomorrow. We have not yet received any court order. If any correction becomes necessary after we receive the order, that can be addressed accordingly."

When asked about the verdict that upheld four constituencies in Bagerhat and five in Gazipur, he said, "We have not yet received the court order. Since the order is not in our hands, it is better not to comment on it. I repeat, tomorrow (Thursday) at 6 pm, the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) will announce the election schedule in his address to the nation."

Earlier in the afternoon, the CEC's speech was recorded by state-run Bangladesh Television (BTV) and Bangladesh Betar at his office in Nirbachan Bhaban in the capital's Agargaon.
