Foreign envoys briefed on election preparations

DHAKA, Dec 18, 2025 (BSS) – The foreign affairs ministry today briefed Dhaka-based foreign embassies on updated preparations and security measures for the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election and referendum.

The briefing was held this afternoon at the State Guest House Padma to apprise diplomats of the government’s readiness ahead of the polls, including comprehensive security arrangements, said a foreign ministry’s press release here. 

During the session, diplomats were informed that the Election Commission would welcome foreign election observers and extended an invitation to deploy election observation missions.

They were also told that law enforcement agencies, including the armed forces, remain fully alert and actively engaged to maintain law and order throughout the electoral period.

The ministry further assured foreign missions of adequate security measures to ensure the safety of diplomatic personnel and premises.

Nearly forty diplomats from foreign embassies based in Dhaka attended the briefing.
