JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, Dec 18, 2025 (BSS) - A seminar titled “European Funding Opportunities for Master’s Students: Empowering You with Expertise” was held at Jahangirnagar University (JU) today, focusing on “Scholarships and Realities for Bangladeshi Students.”

The seminar was organised by URPeers under the guidance of the Students’ Counselling & Guidance Centre, JU at the Senate Hall of the university.

Sure! Pedro Luis Rubio Teres, an associate lecturer of Imperial College of London, the United Kingdom, spoke at the seminar and introduced major European and UK scholarship programmes available for Bangladeshi students pursuing master’s degrees. He explained how the scholarship schemes work, including their structure, coverage and basic requirements.

The speaker also provided avaluable insight on preparing strong scholarship applications and encouraged students to view UK education as an achievable goal through proper planning and informed preparation.

JU’s Urban and Regional Planning Department Associate Professor Dr Afsana Haque was present during the seminar.
