
DHAKA, Dec 23, 2025 (BSS) - Legal assistance has been provided in 4,544 cases through the Dhaka and Chattogram Labour Legal Aid Cells under the National Legal Aid Services Organization (NLASO) at government expense.
The information was revealed in a report on legal aid services provided through offices of the NLASO from 2009 to November 2025.
According to the report, a total of 451,886 cases have received legal assistance nationwide at government cost for financially insolvent litigants.
The report, published on the NLASO website, stated that of the total cases, legal aid was provided in 3,343 cases through the Supreme Court Legal Aid Office, while 443,999 cases through the 64 District Legal Aid Offices, and 4,544 cases through the Dhaka and Chattogram Labour Legal Aid Cells.
Legal aid services are being provided through the 64 District Legal Aid Offices, the Supreme Court Legal Aid Office, the Dhaka and Chattogram Labour Legal Aid Cells, the Government Legal Aid National Helpline Call Centre (toll-free 16699), and for prisoners.
The service is provided at government expense under the Legal Aid Services Act to ensure legal assistance for financially insolvent and disadvantaged litigants across the country.
The activities of the NLASO are conducted under the Law and Justice Division of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
