SANGSAD BHABAN, Feb 18, 2024 (BSS) - Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives (LGRD) Minister M Tajul Islam today said the government is considering raising monthly honorarium allowances of the union parishad (UP) representatives.
 
"Raising the monthly honorary allowances of the present elected UP chairman, member and reserved women member are being considered," said the minister while responding to a question raised by Shafiul Alam Chowdhury, MP of Moulvibazar-2 at the Jatiya Sangsad here.
 
In 2017, the allowances for UP chairman were increased by Taka 10,000, general members and reserved women seat members by Taka 8,000, the minister told the session with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.
