Consulate General of Bangladesh in Milan observes 'Genocide Day'

DHAKA, March 26, 2024 (BSS) - Consulate General of Bangladesh in Milan observed 'Genocide Day' with due solemnity on Monday.

The programme was attended mainly by members of Bangladesh community.

At the beginning of the programme, a one-minute silence was observed in memory of the departed souls of all martyrs who were killed on the fateful night of March 25, 1971.

After that, messages of President and Prime Minister were read out to the audience.

Taking part at a discussion, Consul General MJH Jabed highlighted the significance in observance of the day saying that it is important to observe the day to ensure justice of the perpetrators of the genocide along with creating global awareness against the heinous crime.
 
The envoy narrated the Pakistani evil design to perpetrate the mass killing on the unarmed Bengalees across the country especially in Dhaka on March 25, 1971.

He called for paying eternal tribute to every soul who gave their lives in the 1971 genocide by turning Bangladesh into 'Sonar Bangla' as dreamt by Bangabandhu
