EU delegation's head of development cooperation calls on PM's principal secy

DHAKA, March 27, 2024 (BSS) - Head of Development Cooperation of the Delegation of the European Union to Bangladesh Michal Krejza today paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister's Principal Secretary M. Tofazzel Hossain Miah at the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) at Tejgaon in the capital.

During the meeting, they discussed different aspects of potentials of leather industry in Bangladesh, said a press release.

The PM's principal secretary said after the garments industry, leather industry has massive potentials in Bangladesh.

He said Bangladesh prime minister always put special emphasis on EU's technical and other cooperation for the development of leather industry in Bangladesh.

Michal Krejza expressed keenness in extending EU's cooperation on reformation and development of Dhaka Tannery Industrial Estate situated at Savar and solid waste removal activity.

He also expressed eagerness of EU's financing in designing and constructing a new Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CATP) in Bangladesh.

He also mentioned the matter of European Investment Bank's cooperation with Bangladesh Industries Ministry and other concerned offices in financing in leather industry and other issues.

Tofazzel Hossain Miah extended special thanks to Michal Krejza for expressing interest in developing the industry and gave assurance of extending all-out cooperation from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) in overall activity of the EU with concerned ministry and offices of Bangladesh.
