DHAKA, May 16, 2024 (BSS) - A mobile court of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has fined 11 institutions Taka 48 lakh in separate anti-adulteration drives in Kadamtoli and Keraniganj areas of the capital.
 
Mobile court of RAB-10 carried out the drives in the capital's Kadamtoli and Keraniganj areas from 10am (Tuesday) to 3:00am today, Assistant superintendent of police and Assistant Director (Media) of RAB-10 M.J. Sohel told BSS today.
 
A team of RAB-10, led by Magistrate Md Mazharul Islam, conducted a drive in the capital's Kadamtoli and Keraniganj areas and fined various companies for producing, stocking and selling unauthorized fake electrical equipment and fake paint, he said.
 
According to RAB, the mobile court sentenced 10 persons of an institution to one month rigorous imprisonment for failing to pay the fine.
 
RAB said, initial investigation revealed that these unscrupulous traders had been producing, stocking and marketing unauthorized fake electrical equipment and fake paint for quite some time.
