Bus-Truck collision kills 4 in Tangail

TANGAIL, Oct 4, 2024 (BSS) - At least four people were killed and 10 others injured when a passenger bus collided head-on with a truck at Kalihati link road on Dhaka-Tangail highway in the early hours of today.

Among the deceased, two have been identified as Mizanur Rahman, 33, son of Bahar Uddin of Ghagra village of Dhanbari upazila of the district and Ziaul, 35, son of late A. Wazed of Mahish Bayan village of Madarganj upazila of Jamalpur district.

The identities of the other two victims could not be known immediately.

The accident occurred in the area when a Mymensingh-bound bus that left the capital and reached Mymensingh link road on Dhaka-Tangail highway collided with a truck that left Kalihati around 1 am, leaving four people dead on the spot and 10 others injured, said Md Nannu Khan, In-Charge of Alenga Highway Police.

The injured were admitted to Tangail General Hospital, he said.

Police seized the bus and truck from the spot.

Legal action will be taken in this connection, he added.
