Bangladesh, Ethiopia discuss signing MoU on enhancing aviation operation 

Dhaka, Nov 4, 2024 (BSS) - Bangladesh and Ethiopian today discussed on 
possibility of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate 
regular training programs, audits, and inspections aimed at enhancing 
operational standards on aviation sectors. 

The discussion was taken place when visiting Director General of the 
Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority, Gatachew Mengistie Alemayehu, met with 
the Chairman of the Bangladesh Civil Aviation Authority (CAAB), Air Vice 
Marshal Md Monjur Kabir Bhuiyan, at the CAAB headquarters here. 

The courtesy meeting focused on enhancing collaboration and exploring new 
opportunities for development in the civil aviation sectors of both 
countries, said a press release here. 

During their discussions, the two officials expressed mutual interest in 
implementing effective measures to advance civil aviation and related 
sectors. 

Key areas of focus included the exchange of skilled auditors, expanding 
flight frequencies, and pursuing academic partnerships.

Both side expressed optimism that this meeting would strengthen the aviation 
relationship between Bangladesh and Ethiopia, paving the way for greater 
cooperation.

Solomon Bekele, Regional Director of Ethiopian Airlines; Yohannes Bekele, 
Area Manager of Ethiopian Airlines; Shohag Hossain, Managing Director of 
Rhythm Group; as well as other officials from both the Ethiopian and 
Bangladesh Civil Aviation Authorities were present at the meeting.
