DHAKA, Nov 5, 2024(BSS) - Algerian ambassador to Bangladesh Abdelouahad Saidani today called on religious affairs adviser Dr AFM Khalid Hossain at his secretariat office here today.
The adviser and the ambassador discussed issues of mutual interest during the meeting, said a press release.
The religious affairs adviser urged the Algerian ambassador to take madrasha students side by side with general students from Bangladesh to their prominent universities with scholarships. He proposed said Algeria can send professors of its different famous Islamic universities to Bangladesh for teaching the Arabic language and literature in Bangladeshi universities and madrashas.
The Algerian ambassador agreed to introduce stipends for the Bangladeshi students and exchange of scholars and resource persons.
The existing relations between Bangladesh and Algeria are very friendly and cordial, the adviser said, adding that there are so many scopes for expansion of relations especially in economic and commercial sectors. The existing relations between the two countries will be better in future, he said.
He also expressed his hope that the Algeria’s cooperation in Bangladesh’s development would be continued in future.
