DHAKA, Nov 25, 2024 (BSS) - Peacetime medal and certificate award ceremony 
among the best Airmen and MODC (Air)-2023 held at Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) 
headquarters here today. 

Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan distributed the 
medals, trophies and certificates to the recipients at the event as the chief 
guest, a release of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said this 
afternoon. 

"There is a provision for awarding peacetime medals annually to the serving 
officers, airmen and MODC (Air) personnel in recognition of their gallantry 
and courageous activities in the BAF," it said.

A total of 39 BAF officers and Air personnel were awarded the peacetime 
medals, trophies and certificates for their outstanding performance for the 
year of 2023.

This year, late Squadron Leader Muhammad Asim Jawwad was posthumously awarded 
Biman Bahini Padak (BBP) in recognition of his immense bravery and skill. 
This award was handed over to his wife and mother. 

Besides, trophies and certificates were also distributed to six selected best 
airmen and MODC (Air) personnel for their outstanding contribution, the ISPR 
release added.

Speaking on the occasion, the air chief congratulated all the recipients of 
peacetime medals, including the best airmen and MODC (Air). 

This award would be recognition for their valorous and courageous acts which 
would inspire others in days to come, he hoped. 

Principal Staff Officers of BAF, Air Officer Commanding of Bases/Units, 
directors of the Air headquarters, senior officers and invited guests from 
various bases were present on the occasion.
