3,000 people to get IT training in next 4-yrs 

DHAKA, Nov 27, 2024 (BSS) – Some 3,000 individuals will be given information and technology based training in next four years as Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) and Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program (SICIP) have teamed up for it. 

BASIS President Rashidul Hasan and SICIP Executive Programme Director and Additional Secretary Mohammed Walid Hossain signed the agreement at SICIP’s head-office in the city on Tuesday, said a press release today. 

It said a total of 3,000 individuals will be trained over the next four years, with the project to be supervised directly by the Ministry of Finance is scheduled to be completed by 2028.

BASIS President said this programme is designed with frontier technology-based courses, which are crucial to building skilled manpower for the future in the global competitive market. 

Rashidul Hasan expressed his confidence saying that this initiative will open new opportunities for the IT sector in the country. 

SICIP Executive Programme Director, in his speech, praised BASIS for its strategic course selection, saying, "Through the SICIP project, we aim to create skilled and innovative human resources that will further strengthen Bangladesh’s competitive position in the global IT sector.” 

“We are highly optimistic about this partnership with BASIS," added Mohammed Walid Hossain.

SICIP is a project managed by the Ministry of Finance in partnership with the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
