HC stays Rajuk decision to relocate DD's office from Uttara

DHAKA, Feb 3, 2025 (BSS) - The High Court (HC) has stayed for six months a 
decision of Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) to relocate the office of 
its deputy director (estate and land-2) from the city's Uttara area to its 
headquarters.

A High Court division bench of Justice Fatema Najib and Justice Sikder 
Mahmudur Razi passed the order on Sunday and issued a rule in this regard.

Advocate Omar Fauk moved a plea in this regard, while deputy attorney 
generals Akter Hossain Md Abdul Wahab and Nur Muhammad Azami stood for the 
state.

Rajuk through an office order on December 12, 2024, revealed its decision to 
relocate the Deputy Director's Office from the city's Uttara area to its 
headquarters and ordered to take necessary steps to relocate the office 
within three working days.

An inhabitant of Uttara Sector-11 named Md Monir Hossain filed the writ 
petition, challenging Rajuk decision.
