RAB arrests fugitive accused in city

DHAKA, Feb 27, 2025 (BSS) - The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has apprehended a man, who fled from the custody of the force recently, from the city's Turag City area.
 
Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB-2 on Wednesday detained Md Shahabuddin Sabu, 32, who is also accused in another narcotic-related case filed with Darus Salam Police Station, from the aforementioned area, according to a press release issued here today.
 
RAB said a special team of Bhola Model Police Station detained Md. Shahabuddin Sabu in front of Al Madina Diagnostic Centre in Sakin, Muslimpara under Bhola Pourashava on January 4.
 
When the team was about to get into the car with the detainee, several people obstructed the police and began scuffling with the members of the law enforcement agency. Taking advantage of the chaos, Sabu fled the scene.
 
The police filed a case with Bhola Sadar Model Police Station in this connection.
 
The arrestee has been handed over to Mohammadpur Police Station.
