DHAKA, Feb 27, 2025 (BSS) – Police have arrested 27 people in special drive in different parts of the capital’s Mohammadpur. 

The arrestees are identified as Sohag (20), Rabbi (20), Mehedi (20), Rafidul Apu (20), Rifat (20), Sourav (20), Jibon (28), Mehedi (22), Rafiq (37), Rashed (32), Md. Ali (20),  Afzal (28),  Wahid (28), Tahsin (28), Nazim (22), Yasin (20), Shakil (25), Mohammad Ali (35), Safayet (20),  Kenan (25), Naimul (19), Siam (19), Nur Islam (19), Halima (26), Rabeya (25), Jannat (20), and Lucky (30), said a media release of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) today.

Mohammadpur police station on Wednesday arrested the 27 people on charges of various crimes including drug peddling, kidnapping and extortion. 

Homemade weapons and narcotics were also recovered from their possessions.

Legal action is on in this connection.
