Govt. transfers 53 police officers under a reshuffle

DHAKA, Feb 27, 2025 (BSS) – The interim government today transferred 53 police officers including additional deputy inspectors general (Additional DIGs) and police superintendents (SPs) as part of a reshuffling in the law enforcement agency.

Home Ministry’s Public Security Division issued the order in separate notifications transferring and annulling previous transfer orders of 29 Additional DIGs and 24 SPs.

According to the notifications additional DIG of Mymensingh Range M Abul Kalam Azad was transferred to Special Security and Protection Battalion-1 (SPBn-1) in Dhaka with the same rank and cancelled the transfer order of Criminal Investigation Department’s (CID) additional DIG Sardar Roknuzzaman, who was recently ordered to join the Armed Police Battalion (APBn).

Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s (DMP) joint commissioners Faridul Islam and Muhammad Mahabubur Rahman were transferred to Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) as additional DIGs.

According to the notifications 25 additional DIGs including supernumerary ones who are serving as SPs were sent new transfer orders, in some cases annulling previous posting orders.

Identically 24 SPs including some supernumerary ones were sent new transfer orders, in some cases annulling previous posting orders.
