3rd unit of Barapukuria power station resumes operation

DINAJPUR, Feb 28, 2025 (BSS) – The third unit of the
Barapukuria coal-based thermal power station located at
Parbatipur upazila in the district resumed its power
generation today after 12-day shut down.

Chief Engineer of the Barapukuria coal-based thermal power
station of Parbatipur upazila Md Abu Bakar Siddique confirmed
the matter.

He said that after starting the third unit of the station,
around 190 to 200 megawatt (MW) of electricity has been
generated in the district.

The generated electricity is being supplied to the national
grid from 6:30 pm today, he added.

The third unit of the Barapukuria thermal power station was
shut down due to technical faults on February 16.
