Islamic Foundation urges all to maintain sanctity of Ramadan

DHAKA, March 1, 2025 (BSS) - The Islamic Foundation, Bangladesh (IFB) has called upon the countrymen to preserve the sanctity of Ramadan.

The IFB came up with the call at a rally organized this morning on the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque premises to welcome the holy month of Ramadan, said a press release this noon.

The Ramadan is the ninth month of the Arabic calendar, which is observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting (sawm), prayers (salah), recitation from the Holy Quran and other religious activities.
  
The rally was organized to create awareness among people to defend the sanctity of the holy month of Ramadan of 1446 Hijri, the release added.

IFB Director General A Salam Khan led the rally, which started from the north gate of the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque and ended at its south gate, parading different thoroughfares of the surrounding areas. 

Director of Islamic Foundation Mohammad Touhidul Anwar, Md Anisur Rahman Sarkar, Dr Mohammad Harunur Rashid, Islamic scholars, IFB officials and employees, among others, were present on the occasion.
