Legal Aid realizes compensation of Tk 239.25 cr for insolvent litigants

DHAKA, March 01, 2025 (BSS) - The National Legal Aid Organization (Legal Aid) has provided 
help to realize insolvent litigants Taka 239.25 cr as compensation.

A report published on the website of the National Legal Aid Organization (Legal Aid) stated this, saying that the legal assistances were provided to the country’s insolvent litigants from 2009 to January 2025.

This compensation has been realized in pre-and-post cases through Legal Aid offices across the country as well as the Workers' Legal Aid Cells in Dhaka and Chittagong. 

Of this, Taka 232 crore, 62 lakh, 13 thousand and 381 was collected through 64 districts legal aid units while Tk 6 crore, 63 lakh, 26 thousand and 215 others through Dhaka and Chittagong workers' legal aid cells, the report said.

The Legal Aid activities are being carried out under the Law and Justice Department of the 
Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
