THAKURGAON, Mar 4, 2025 (BSS) – Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) today said they brought back three Bangladeshis who were detained by India’s Border Security Force (BSF) two days ago on penetration charges in this northwestern frontier.

BGB’s Thakurgaon-based 50 BGB battalion said BSF detained three Bangladeshis who penetrated 150 yards of India territory at the Waligarh near Dabri on March 2.

BGB’s battalion commander Lieutenant Colonel Tanzir Ahmed said soon after getting the information Bangladeshi border guards communicated with the Indian counterparts and held a company commander level flag meeting on the next day resulting in their return home.

BSF handed them to BGB while BGB handed them over to Haripur Police Station on charges of trespassing to India.

“We have successfully brought detained Bangladeshis from BSF with urgent communication. People would have to more cautious and no one should take such risk in the future,” Ahmed said.

The Bangladeshis are Tulan Pal of Thakurgaon’s Baliadangi Upazila, Mithun Singh and Manhari Chandra Singh of Atwari Upazila of neighbouring Panchagarh district.
