Bangladesh Satellite's broadcast may face disruption for solar outage

DHAKA, March 4, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Satellite-I may face temporary disruptions in broadcast for seven days, starting from March 7 due to a possible solar outage.

These outages, also referred as solar satellite interference, occur when the sun passes directly behind satellites transmitting signals.

The Bangladesh Satellite Company Limited issued a notification in this regard today, mentioning the probable period of the outage.

On March 7, an eight-minute disruption may start at 9:53am followed by 10 minutes on March 8 at 9:52am, 12-minute disruption on March 9 at 9:51am, 13-minute disruption each on March 10 and 11 at 9:50am, 12-minute disruption on March 12 at 9:50am, and 9-minute disruption on March 13 at 9:51am.

Audiences of televisions which operate through the satellite may witness disruption in the broadcast alongside telecommunication service receivers.
