Labour Welfare Foundation receives Tk1.39cr

DHAKA, March 4, 2025 (BSS) - ACI Limited has handed over a cheque amounting to over Taka 1.39 to the Bangladesh Labour Welfare Foundation at the rate of 0.5 percent of the company's annual dividend in accordance with the Bangladesh Labor Act-2006 (Amended 2018).

Labour and Employment and Shipping Adviser Brigadier General (retd) Dr M Sakhawat Hussain revealed the information at a function today.

He said the money provided by the organisation will be deposited in the fund of the Bangladesh Labour Welfare Foundation under the Ministry of Labor and Employment.

The advisor hoped that many large organizations, including various groups of companies, would deposit their dividend money to the foundation.

He said that the money from this fund will be spent on distressed workers, grants for deceased workers, student scholarships, and emergency treatment of workers.

Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Shipping Mohammad Yusuf, Secretary of the Ministry of Labor and Employment AHM Shafiquzzaman, Director General of the Bangladesh Labour Welfare Foundation Md. Munir Hossain Khan and representatives of ACI Limited, among others, were present at the event.
