DHAKA, March 5, 2025 (BSS) - Two former US diplomats William Bryant Milam and Jon F Danilowicz today visited the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) here and held a meeting with its chief prosecutor Muhammad Tajul Islam at his office.

Both Milam and Danilowicz, who passed a significant time of their careers in the US Mission in Bangladesh, visited the ICT as representatives of the US-based think tank "Right to Freedom".

"We (prosecution team) held a meeting with William Bryant Milam and Jon F Danilowicz. The two former US diplomats quarried about the July-August genocides, crimes against humanity, torture, murders and enforced disappearances those took placed in last 15 years and the trial process during the meeting. They gave us necessary advice and assured their assistance in holding the trial of crimes against humanity," Tajul told newsmen.

The ICT chief prosecutor said both the think tank representatives want the Bangladesh government to hold trial of the crimes against humanity in such a way that none can repeat those in future.

"They mainly collect information to determine why trials for genocides and crimes against humanity are so necessary and to prevent fake news spread beyond ground reality. They will work with us regarding the matters," he added.
