18 police officers including CID chief transferred

DHAKA, March 5, 2025 (BSS) - The Home Ministry on Tuesday transferred and posted 18 police officers, 
including head of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Matiur Rahman Sheikh.

Of them, Matiur Rahman has been transferred to the police headquarters. 

In addition, Sarada Police Academy Principal Masudur Rahman Bhuiyan and Anti-Terrorism Unit Chief 
Khondaker Rafiqul Islam have been transferred to the police headquarters.

They are officers of the rank of Additional Inspector General of Police (Additional IGP). Of them, 
Rafiqul Islam holds the current charge of Additional IGP.

The Home Ministry issued a notification yesterday in this regard.

Other transferred officers include  - Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Highway Police Rezaul Karim to 
Police Headquarters, DIG of Police Headquarters Shoaib Riaz Alam to Sarada Police Academy, DIG of 
Mymensingh Range Ashrafur Rahman to Police Headquarters, DIG of Police Headquarters Ataul Kibria 
to Mymensingh Range, DIG of Industrial unit Police Ashrafuzzaman has been transferred as 
Commandant of Rangpur Police Training Center, CID DIG Harun Ur Rashid Hazari has been transferred 
to Industrial Zone Police, Sarada Police Academy DIG Rakhfar Sultana Khanam has been transferred to 
Highway Police, Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner (DC) Saifuddin Shaheen has been 
transferred as Superintendent of Police (SP) of Cox's Bazar, Khulna Range DIG Office SP Tofail Ahmed 
has been transferred as SP of Sunamganj, DMP Uttara Division DC Rawnak Jahan has been transferred 
as SP of Jessore district and DMP DC Abul Fazal Mohammad Tariq Hossain Khan has been transferred 
as SP of Nilphamari. 

Meanwhile, Jessore district SP Ziauddin Ahmed, Sunamganj SP AFM Anwar Hossain Khan, Cox's Bazar 
SP Muhammad Rahmat Ullah and Nilphamari district SP Mohammad Morshed Alam have been 
attached to the police headquarters.
