DHAKA, March 5, 2025 (BSS) - Ailing BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir's physical condition is improving fast.

"Sir (Mirza Fakhrul) can return home soon from the hospital,"
Mirza Fakhrul's personal assistant Yunus Ali told BSS.

However, doctors have advised him to take rest for a few days, he said.

BNP media cell member Shairul Kabir Khan said Mirza Fakhrul sought Dua from the countrymen for his early recovery.

Fakhrul was admitted to the United Hospital in Gulshan in the capital on Sunday after feeling sick.

He is undergoing treatment under the supervision of United Hospital's Chief Cardiology Consultant Professor NAM Momenuzzaman.

His wife Rahat Ara Begum and younger daughter Mirza Safaruh are by his side in the hospital.

Doctors at the hospital said that Mirza Fakhrul's sodium level had decreased and he was having difficulty breathing due to cough and congestion in his chest.

As a result, he was feeling very weak. Later, on the advice of the doctor, the BNP Secretary General was immediately admitted to the hospital.

After admission, various health tests were also done.

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman is constantly in touch with Mirza Fakhrul's family over the phone from London, UK.

On Tuesday, the party's standing committee member Mirza Abbas and Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed visited Mirza Fakhrul at the hospital and inquired about his health.
