DHAKA, March 6, 2025 (BSS) - Mostafa Asif Arnab, who was arrested on March 5 for harassing a student of Dhaka University (DU) over her dress, was released today by the court on a bail bond of Taka one thousand.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mehera Mahbub passed the order as the concerned investigation officer filed a report, saying the complainant has pleaded to withdraw her case against the accused.

Arnab, an assistant book binder working a Dhaka University central library, allegedly stopped the girl on the varsity campus and rebuked her over her dressing. The girl later shared his photograph on the social networking site and narrated her ordeal.

She first filed the compliant with DU proctor office and later filed the case with the Shahbagh Police Station.
